Please feel free to contact me for a no-obligation chat about how I can assist you with researching your family history.
Questions about our families might begin as near as our parents and grandparents. Sometimes, one side of the family is known while the other is a mystery. At other times, internet research has dried up, leaving the uncharted territory of archival records to be explored.
I have a detailed knowledge of published family history sources which include indices, maps, directories, newspapers, illustrations, county and parish histories, periodicals, lists and transcriptions and deposited information by previous researchers. Many of these stored locally remain unavailable on the internet and are a mine of untapped information.
I can offer you:
- Local research for a family with Westcountry connections either for the amateur, or the professional on a sub-contractual basis.
- Online consultation about your own family history studies via a 30-minute video call. The consultation includes an examination of your material prior to the call, a discussion and advice on how to proceed.
- A detailed family history report of all findings at the end of the research including social, historical and geographical context, any interesting facts about direct ancestors and a chart recording the direct line found in the research, with the option of wider research and a more comprehensive family tree.
- A detailed family history report for a special event such as a birthday or anniversary. A certificate heralding the project and presented on the day is a popular option, so that the special person can be involved in the research.
